If the world is to hate on republicans so much, please take the time to read what a real one actually thinks.

Republic:

1. a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them.
2. any body of persons viewed as a group of sovereign states and their dependencies associated by their own choice and linked with common objectives and interests.
3. a state in which the head of government is not a monarch or other hereditary head of state.

Nationalism:

1. spirit or aspirations common to the whole of a nation.
2. devotion and loyalty to one's own country; patriotism.
3. excessive patriotism; chauvinism.

A republican nationalist's goal is for all United States civilians of every race and background (including legal immigrants) to be bonded by a conclusive conserved culture - and that then protect that culture. Other countries are allowed to have culture: America should be no different.  Being nationalist is not inherently  supremacist. It means you  put the people you live among first over people from other places.

Culture is very fluid in this country but some values we preserve and other changes are slow.

I have made the argument that America has a culture we should protect. I am often told we have no culture of our own, which is prosperous.

Examples of our traditional culture: rock and roll, rap,  grunge, etc music;  protecting and encouraging freedom for all; blue jeans and other such clothes, including much of the worlds modern fashion and design;  saluting to the flag; knowing the pledge of allegiance by heart and saying it in school every day; knowing the national anthem by heart and singing it at every major event;  parliamentary procedure;  Christmas trees and lights covering every town and city during the holidays, where we remember Jesus and focus on giving, loving and enjoying our families, and the same for other Christian holidays (while other religious holidays are also respected); and much more.

Examples of extreme culture: Allowing immigrants who want to radically change our culture to enter and force their culture upon us backed by the government; enlarging the fed; shrinking the state; banning free speech; removing any semblance   of God from our schools and the public; tearing down statues and desecrating historical sites ; and more.

We should progress but should not progress too quickly.

Conservation makes us conclusive. Extreme fast changes in culture causes conclusion be disrupted by violence, riots, and even death. Changes in culture should be slow. So we have the time to talk with each other, understand each other, compromise. Look before we leap.

These extreme views about sexuality, socialism, and destruction of family split us apart. Turning everything emotional and angry. Splitting our society in half with virile    hate. Causing people to make rash decisions. A place where psychopaths are allowed to abuse and murder people in the chaos.

To sum it up in few words. Republicans believe in electing politicians whose full -time job is to learn about civics and what their contituents want to represent them. While pure democracy means only the popular vote should  decide the laws and constitution of America.

In a country where people care more about football games and music videos than government, I don't want the masses to decide everything. That is why I am a Republican.
